Dancing parsnip

A considerable improvement in Doreen today. She was out of bed and sitting in a chair when we got there just before her carer arrived. That’s a relief although she still needs four visits a day while she’s taking the antibiotics.

After visiting Doreen we went for a walk calling in at the local butchers for some beef for Mother’s Day on Sunday. All things considered, we’ll not be taking her out so will cook her a dinner at her place on Sunday.

I spent the afternoon at the allotment mostly moving and setting out the new strawberry bed. Good fortune and planning meant I had over 30 new plants grown from runners off the original plants which have fruited for three years.

I’m not sure today’s dancing parsnip is quite as good as yesterday’s exhibitionist carrot. Hopefully, it will make one or two of you giggle in these unprecedented times. Exhibitionist Carrot is no more. We ate him today.

I’m hoping the allotment will provide solace in the coming weeks although I’m not sure what will happen if we go into full lockdown.
