Wisdom of the Ages

With my assistant still sadly laid up, babysitting duties were all mine. It was a joy to see the wee one, but walking to the daughter’s to fetch her and back, to the chemist and back for some new meds for the SK, then trundling back to the daughter’s at the end, was quite enough exercise. And that was without actually entertaining and feeding her. I tell you, being a Grandad is a young man’s game.
But we were aided by a gorgeous day outside, and a beach literally on the doorstep. I think the wee one is now getting over that strange feeling of the sand on the feet for the first time. We’ll soon have her joining in that “wild” swimming malarkey. Or swimming as we used to call it. But that was only in the summer. And at places where the tide came in over warm(ish) sands. Always ask, did your Granny and Grandad do it? If not, it’s probably not that great an idea.
