Life in Sunny Dubai

Water Features

Doing my favourite type of photography here... (trying to) capture night scenes just as the eye sees it. Handheld ofcourse!

For a dry, desert place, Dubai has a remarkable amount of water features... a symbol of progress, wealth, abundance, whatever...

Today has been busy! Got some annoying nagging jobs done. First off was seeing my bike for the first time in 8 months! It was covered in dust and had completely flat tyres, so first, it got a good wipe ALL OVER including the spokes and areas between them! Then took it to the nearby garage to get the tyres pumped up. Rode it back and it is fine. G discovered a plastic cover for it in the unpacking, so that's gone on to save time for future dust-downs!

Then, I sorted out lots more paper and this time, I've really broken the back of it, soooo, the next big paper sort will be . . . the filing cabinet!!

Friends from UK have arrived for a short trip and as the airport is right in town, I picked them up. So much to see and do here... they're going to need tons of energy. A bit of a disclaimer really as it means I may be playing catch up rather a lot with comments! Sorry! Should be able to post some touristy things though. Well, the bits I do with them! Next three evenings already planned.

PS. This is at the entrance to the Hyatt Regency - Dubai's second oldest 5* hotel and the only one with a revolving restaurant.
