Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Grumpy today

Becky and Daniel took Archie out to the Meadows, and he got a good report. He did get a bad report once, when he rolled in something nasty.

I spent most of the day reading the Sunday papers, but in the afternoon we ventured out in the sun. Gilet weather, but also wooly hat for me. Crowds playing organised games and picnicking. BUT... the big bins, which are rather sparse anyway, were FULL and overflowing. There were lots of black bags around them, and I think it must have the Friends of the Meadows clearing up this morning that Becky saw. It certainly wasn’t our council. And so, for the people who do actually want to dispose of their rubbish correctly, well, they’ll just have to add theirs around the bins for the foxes to have a field day tonight. I get SO MAD! I took photos (too awful to blip) and wrote to all my councillors (though photos were not permitted). Of course, all the bins round our streets are full too.

Census Day for the UK, though not for us in Scotland - we have a pandemic still. Hang on! So do England, N Ireland, and Wales...

Better end on a more positive note - ‘Line of Duty’ is back.
