A friend came round to help me with a couple of jobs, one which was to put up a curtain batten. I do own a drill but I hate to use it. Anyway the job didn't quite go according to plan, which is typical of much to do with curtains in my experience, so he'll be back next Sunday to hopefully finish it. Then I'll be able to remove the last horrible vertical blind and paint the remaining bit of wall.
