MM : Architectural glimpses

Last night Gavin and I watched the movie Blackbird on Amazon Prime - it is about a family who come together one weekend to say goodbye to the mum who is dying of a degenerative disease. It has an all star cast with Susan Sarandon, (an unrecognisable) Kate Winslet, Mia Wasikowska and Sam Neill, but the true star of the show is the beautiful house where it is set - it is meant to be in The Hamptons in the USA but is actually a house at West Witterings (our nearest beach) in the UK.

Today while I was out walking Xena in beautiful sunshine and then grocery shopping, Gavin was getting frustrated trying to work while dealing with two sets of repair men  - one pair to repair the wifi hubs which had just stopped working in the bedrooms, so the ethernet points were fixed and we now have wifi throughout the house again. The other repair was a leaking pipe from the one of the boilers. Then tomorrow we have the dishwasher technician coming to fix the dishwasher which is not working correctly and I am out tomorrow morning again...oops! I frequently get told 'I can't work from home' by Gavin - I think everyone is sick of working from home and would like to get back to the office, especially the young employees who miss the social aspect of a day at work.

More gloomy news about a possible third wave of Covid reaching our shores after Europe have messed up their vaccine program and have rising cases again.

Today the theme for the mono Monday challenge is 'architectural glimpses', and I like the glimpse through the willow tree branches of the buildings on the opposite side of the road. I actually prefer the colour version as the new leaves on the willow tree are so bright and green, and they look lovely against the blue sky - but it is a mono challenge so mono it must be!
