Translated it means 'Flight of the butterflies'

I decided to incorporate a little cherry into my newly cleared out bed.  It seemed the ideal time to choose a small shrub/tree to plant in memory of Flossie.  After a bit of research I found this little beauty. Eventually at maturity it may reach just 2 metres.. it flowers profusely in mid march which is perfect timing to mark both her arrival with us and also her departure and puts on a display of orangey leaves in the autumn which will also be welcome.

'The significance of the cherry blossom tree in Japanese culture goes back hundreds of year. In their country, the cherry blossom represents the fragility and the beauty of life. It's a reminder that life is almost overwhelmingy beautiful but that it is also tragically short.'
