Project 365 day 85: Neighbours

This is the only photo I have taken today. I didn't plan to post a heap of spring cabbages almost entirely lacking in aesthetic appeal, but a lot of things came along to fill my day, and then the light faded early and it rained a lot. The bag of greens appeared outside the front door after breakfast, a gift from our wonderfully generous neighbour, who at about 95 is still cultivating his very large garden and vegetable plot entirely single handed. I shredded some to accompany lunch and they were fresh and tasty. C often gives us surplus vegetables or seedlings - this week he has also left part trays of small cauliflower and romanesco plants.  A couple of days ago, another neighbour dropped off half a dozen fresh eggs, as she often does when their hens lay more than they can eat. Others have recently loaned tools to open an ancient inspection cover and helped dig for the leak in our mains water pipe, and collected prescription medication. Over the past year we have been more grateful than ever that we have good neighbours and live in a friendly village community.
