Bus Pass Walk

Lovely to be able to resume walking with the Bus Pass Walkers today under the “rule of 6”, although no buses involved at the moment.  A bright and sunny day for it too!  Lovely walk around the estate, encountering quite a few golfers at different points - the course reopened on Monday, and they were all very cheery and wearing big smiles!  Refreshments at The Ivy Cafe before returning home - surprised to see a patch of wild Pulmonaria drowning amongst the brambles near the estate entrance (extra).  Sad news this evening though that there has been a fatality at our local beauty spot at Goit Stock Waterfall.  A huge response from the emergency services to a report of a person missing in the water at what is a very difficult place to access for a rescue. Rumour is that youngsters had been jumping from the waterfall - always worrying to see due to the rocks and fast flowing water.  No doubt we will find out later what has happened, but terrible news for the family involved.
