Easter, a Visual Metaphor

Dear Diary,

It is a beautiful Easter Sunday morning and this is my visual metaphor for the day.  I've always loved the Minor White quote, "One should not only photograph things for what they are but for what else they are."  Today is my first day of being fully vaccinated, a sort of personal resurrection I guess you might say, so it is a metaphor for that as well.  I will spend the afternoon with my cousins for the first time in over a year.  My family usually visited their family on Easter each year so it seems especially fitting.  I've added an extra photograph of one such family Easter gathering in 1957 which I've colorized.    I am sitting with the two cousins I will visit today, 64 years later.
