Just for fun!

Lasse had come with his Muurikka pan to try it out over an open fire. We decided the simplest was to make some damper bread and grill it on the Muurikka (see Jan's blip or my extra). The bread was mixed using flour, salt, baking powder, butter and water, all mixed to a soft dough and kneaded for around 5 minutes.  Then we pressed it out into flat rounds, spinning them in the air, more for fun than for any practical reason!
The Muurikka was oiled with a little cooking oil and then we grilled the bread and ate it hot with lots of butter.
Technically it was not always perfect. The first attempt the pan was really hot and the bread was slightly burnt on the outside and the inside was hot but not fully cooked.  Later the pan was a little too cool and by the time the bread was cooked it had dried a bit. In the middle of the process we hit the sweet spot and produced some perfect bread.
However, all attempts were eaten and with the melting butter and in the open air they all tasted delicious. Most importantly, we all had a lot of fun!
The left-overs from yesterday were also eaten and were just as delicious today.
Jan took the pictures but I was the director
