Love on Top

Early doors this morning I was doing a cheeky paparazzi moment with a long lens across the field.

We had a thick frost; the ground underfoot crunched nicely as I topped up the feeders and bang on time the pheasant family tottered in with Philippe guarding his harem  whilst squawking guarding his territory. They are lovely birds with fantastic plumage. Perhaps not the cleverest but certainly one of the most vibrant and colourful.

Yet another day of sorting out the ongoing parental dilemmas. The washing machine, in daily use had leaked water all over the utility floor, it had had its day. After a few efforts at trying to mend it, it was thought prudent  to replace the whole thing. To get to this point here has meant a few hours on the phone. All was good till Dad decided to switch it on this morning!! Water everywhere.

Other things to try an avert catastrophes include sorting the fridge/freezer which deliberately empties it's drawers that you can't actually see in on your head if aren't careful, the back door lock, a stranger in the house, possible security cameras and don't even mention the bank. One could never be bored in a bird hide with calls coming in right left and centre.

Hubs says he's now got a streaming head cold! Wonderful!

Despite all the shenanigans it was fabulous to be able to get out first thing, bundled up in warm clothes, a cuppa in hand and be at one with the wildlife around the house.
