Don't Despair Bear

I saw this new sculpture on the local Bristol news, and realised I really wanted to blip it. It's quite a strong image. The anonymous artist wants to raise awareness of suicide and hopes to use it to support Suicide Prevention Bristol.

The idea of the young lad's teddy bear, returning to comfort him, to talk him down, from his perch high on a Bristol building, is powerful. The bear, expressionless, standing in silent support. Waiting for the decision to be made. The piece is called "Bear with me".

I took the shot across a busy road in the heart of the city. It's almost more impactful standing below it and looking up to see the legs having over the edge, but somehow that doesn't translate to the photograph. There's a close up in the extra.
