“Filling the Frame”...

...the theme for todays’ AbstractThursday, & thanks to Ingeborg for hosting.
A very long day for us today. Tom had to be at Froedterts’ Cancer Center at 9:15 for a blood draw, then had an appointment at 10:15 with his Internist who wanted to make sure he was doing okay after his recent hospitalization. This was supposed to be followed up with an appointment at noon with Tom’s oncologists’ nurse to review the lab results, but she called me with the results to save us a trip to the office. All good except for his blood count, which dropped just enough for him to need a transfusion. She asked if Tom wanted to be transfused here at the day hospital since we were already here—he did—but they couldn’t get him in until 12:45, so we went to the cafe for coffee (me) & juice (Tom) and drank while we watched the rain pour down. The blood is infusing now & should be finished about 3:00. Tom is napping. On our travels around the building today we came across a large wall display of architectural pieces from the original Milwaukee County Hospital which stood on this site. It had been built in 1927 & was in use until 1983. My blip is part of an old frieze that was above the main entrance to County Hospital. :)
