Megalong School

I've often meant to blip this little school and the light was right as we drove past this afternoon.
It was established in 1892 but I'm not sure how much longer it can survive. The demographic of the valley is changing. Young farming families are being replaced by affluent city folk (ie. no kids) looking for a rural retreat relatively close to Sydney.
Last year there were only 3 children at the school. I am surprised it hasn't closed. Maybe they have had a couple more enrolments.
I attended a school much like this myself until I was 11. We averaged about 16 students. There was only one teacher ( called "Sir") and he was rarely ever sick, an occasion which meant we all got to stay home :-)
