First visitors!

Unexpected, but so very welcome our first visitors for a year! It was so good to be able to offer some hospitality to these lovely local ladies, who just popped by but stayed a couple of hours, as the weather was kind to us. On the right is Mary, the lady that Barry helps with her coal every couple of days. She is a font of all local knowledge of the last 80+ years! She has lived locally all her life. Chris is a local historian and between them they know everything about everybody local. Not in a gossipy way but just who lived in which house when, what they did for work, who they married, and all about their children too. They also know about all the buildings and use of the fields etc and recount endless tales of years gone by! Mary is 90 now but can remember so much of her childhood and tells wonderful stories of school days and her family. They are amazing to chat with and the time whizzed by.
Previous to their visit I planted several large buckets of potatoes in the poly tunnel, so their visit was a super end to a day in the garden.
