Bracket Fungus

During a tramp across the farm I came across this bracket fungus, in fact there were three giant ones at the base of an oak tree which probably means rot is setting in at the base of the oak. If anybody can identify what it is, it would be great. There are so many. This one has a definite circular raised core where it is attached to the tree before it fans out.

N and I and friend C had a wonderful evening at the Octagon Theatre in Yeovil. A performance of Madame Butterfly by the Grand Opera of Belarus who have received Bolshoi status. Inna Rusinovskaya played the part of Madame Butterfly. The theatre was packed, a real treat for us country bumkins! N enjoyed his birthday treat.
