Travellers summer camp

This tipi/teepee looks forlorn now but come the summer months the travellers will return and clothe it in its canvas. The larger and newer yurt nearby will also be covered and provide shelter.

A baby was born in this field about 20 years ago, the midwife was so excited as this was her first open-air delivery and all went well for mother and baby. The parents drove round the lanes in a donkey cart with their son and heir and looked almost Biblical.

The lanes are now full of primroses, violets and celandines. I hope they survive the freeze-up that is supposed to be coming our way on Sunday.

T cooked us a delicious three-course meal for N's birthday present last night. I don't think he will ever starve through lack of skill!
