When Will You (Make My Telephone Ring)

It doesn't look as though this classic telephone box has been used in a while. Did you know communities can adopt a red phone box under the "Adopt A Kiosk" scheme. Lots of fantastic ideas on how to re-use the kiosk have been put in place, for instance the Heartbeat Trust have installed defibrillators in disused phone boxes across the country.

Still reading "The Laidlaw Trilogy" by William McIlvanney from last week. On the music front I've been listening to a lot of George Harrison, culminating in the "Concert For George" repeated on Sky Arts last Sunday, was it really 2002.

In other news, sorry to hear about the death of Shirley Williams, no matter whether you agreed with her or not she always oozed humanity, that's so much more important than the politics.

And in the end, on this day in 1968, John Lennon and George Harrison left Rishikesh in India. Lennon flies home writing "Sexy Sadie on the journey, while Harrison visits Ravi Shankar.
