Bluebells

I was out with a friend today for a walk on the other side of Sidmouth.  It was a lovely sunny, calm but cool start to the day as we walked along the Byes beside the river Sid.  We were doing the Sidmouth Ring Walk which involved a steep climb up to Soldiers Hill.  This area is known for its bluebells and it looks like there will be a good display in a week to two's time.  We did see small areas where some were starting to bloom, so my first bluebells for the year.  I anticipate a few more  to come.  It was a lovely walk and we made a short diversion to view the Frog Stone with its views down to Salcombe Regis.  The weather started to turn as we headed back along the coast path to Sidmouth where we found a shelter where we could eat our lunch.  A short stroll back through the byes and then a diversion through the cemetery and nature reserve before heading home.  A lovely walk of 7 miles in all.
