In the Spotlight

Some time ago Wharfedale Bex identified this as a Bee Fly, it's certainly a very strange looking insect.  It just happened to fly by a patch of white lichen as I blipped it.

I've had another quiet day.  We had a lovely Skype with Euan and his Mum and Dad.  We attempted to sing his favourite daycare song about the iguana drinking coffee but we need to work on our Spanish!  There was 'Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes', 'This Little Piggy' and 'Incey Wincey Spider' and we read 'Colin the Chameleon'.  Euan emptied the dishwasher of spoons and we drummed with them.  He's pretty much on the go all the time now but able to occupy himself with his toys, although Mum says he is more interested in household things than toys.

After lunch, Tony went up to the allotment to finish his wall whilst I pottered in the rockery and mini meadow, then sat down to watch the funeral of Prince Philip.  We are good at ceremonial occasions and the size/organisation of it befitted the present Covid climate.
