Hope Springs Eternal

There is a huge magnolia tree in a neighbour's yard at the end of my street. Every year, my other neighbour ET and I watch and wait for it to bloom, and cross our fingers and hope that we won't get a windstorm or heavy rain to knock those wondrous flowers off before their time. They are not fully out yet, but I have been taking photos of them every day just in case....so far, so good. But, who knows what tomorrow will bring, so today's photo made it to the blip platform. Still hoping though...camera is waiting, ready for full blooms!

Today was the first day of our latest emergency COVID lockdown and it was fraught with criticism and upheaval, especially from the scientific and medical communities, angry because their recommendations had not been heeded by the politicians and warning that the consequences of that will be dire. That took a real stab at any hope we had for the effectiveness of this round of restrictions. Can't give up hope now though...surely science and reason will prevail?
