Put together a picnic and headed over to Glasgow....so strange to be driving away from the city and be in the car for an hour! Arrived at VickyG’s and we set off to walk along the canal towards the Botanic gardens....Glasgow baffles me a bit and I can’t get my bearings at all - have no idea of how different neighbourhoods fit together. Still, the canal was lovely and we chatted along non stop as usual about work and people we both know and her plans for spending more time at their cottage etc etc. The canal and then river that we walked along were beautiful and it was a gorgeous sunny day again, although for a change with some more puffy white clouds in the sky.
We arrived at the entrance near the glasshouses a bit early so sat on a bench people watching and continuing our chat until Laura arrived, and we moved to a patch of grass to spread our rug and lay out the picnic. Felt almost heady with the novelty of two social encounters in so many days and we sat and talked about all sorts and nothing as we ate and lapped up the sunshine.
As we reluctantly headed off we passed this bench with its bright knitted coat and had to do a couple of pictures (so got a blipsnap!) to mark the day....I’d nearly taken a shot of the lawns full of people doing as we’d just done since it looked so busy, but everyone was keeping to their small huddles of people - just looked crowded from a distance..
We wandered back through some streets of beautiful houses and then I headed home. When I got back in I was pretty tired and had a snacky sort of supper and started on the front of the jumper for A.
