Stuff and Nonsense

Cute Lamb

After a surprisingly quick and efficient appointment at the hospital with my Dad, we decided upon a trip to RSPB Burton Mere. Despite the lack of open hides,  there was a lot to see. #100 on my annual list of birds seen turned out to be a spotted redshank that was pointed out to us by someone else, but to be honest it was so far away that we would never have noticed them ourselves.
We also came upon kwchas and kwdiane who were also trying to identify these far away waders. It was lovely to finally meet, after following each other for the past few years on Blipfoto. It's a good job I recognised them from their occasional blips of each other as you'd never recognise them from their profile pictures :)
I'm sure we will get around to arranging a proper blipmeet in the future - I'd like that.

As well as over 40 birds seen today, there were lots of lambs in the top field and I couldn't resist posting one as they are just so cute.
In extras is another shot of a Cetti's warbler - much better than the one I posted at the end of last month. It was unusually sitting out in the open and posing quite nicely.
