Mallard ducks

We went across to Charlecote Park NT property this morning for today's walk as we haven't been for over a week whilst normally we go there once or even twice most weeks.

I just took my everyday short zoom lens on my camera and left it to J to capture the far off herons, egrets, and kestrels with her superzoom bridge camera, which of course she did as always with some excellent photos.

Two friends we often see there were once again nowhere to be found yet again and it seems that somehow we have been booking different days for the last few weeks as both of us are now going a little bit further afield for our walks since the slight easing of lockdown.

These two drakes were on the pond / lake along with several females and all of them came paddling furiously over to us until they realised we weren't about to feed them. They then all turned tail and swam off elsewhere, disappointed, but not before they had a quick forage under water hence their grubby bills.

Before I go can I just thank everyone for their stars and lovely comments of the last few days. These kindnesses are always much appreciated. Thank you again.
