Stinky George 13-10-1999 8-03-2013

George has not been well for a while, he's been finding harder and harder to get his breath. Wheezing and unable to walk more than a few steps. I took him to the vet's today. he struggled to walk the short distance to the High st and I ended up carrying him. The prognosis was that his lungs have had it and so we felt the best thing was to put him to sleep. The vet was very kind, and although I feel completely terrible at the moment we know it was the best thing for him. He has had a long and happy life, with lots of walks and some fine dog friends. He will be very sorely missed.

We'll have a funeral for him tomorrow, find him a nice spot under a tree. Everyone is very, very sad.

Ironically we rehomed Meg today as well, she has been getting increasingly aggressive with Molly and the chickens to the point where Molly's life was being made a misery. Some friends of friends were looking for a dog and wanted a collie so they have taken her. They are lovely folks and she's only down the road we can can go and see her, she'll be the only dog in the house which is what she needs.

In under 3 hours we went from a 3 dog to a 1 dog household.
