Lune Viaduct

To Sedbergh to take A out for a walk on paths she would not venture on her own. This is part of the disused railway line we  have explored a couple of times lately and this is the best view yet. The line was in use for about 100 years. As we ate our lunch in the sunshine listening to the birds and the sheep, we reflected on how noisy and dirty it  must have been during those years. You can see a farm right by the viaduct. I bet they was pleased when the line closed.   We tried to follow the old track through the fields but we thwarted by fences. I'm sure Boris has made some announcements about old lines being reopened. I don't expect it will be this one which only ever served a few rural towns.
