Dry April

I never expected to be watering the garden in April but we now have what looks like the driest April on record. So I have been out with the hosepipe for the greater part of the afternoon.
 
Today’s photo shows just how low the Allan Water river is. In normal circumstances all these stones would be covered.
 
Either we are in for a long hot summer or we are going to see a very wet May and June.
