Bird Therapy....

I get so much joy from watching the birds at the bird feeders. Their habits and mannerisms are so fascinating to discover and enjoy.

The Robin that is so focused on guarding against stealth attacks from other Robins, it forgets to actually eat the food it’s so jealously keeping safe.

The little Blue Tits, with their gorgeous distinctive faces that look so cheeky, diving in and taking the food while the Robins engage in siege warfare.

The Sparrows, nervously gathering on the branches at the edge of the quince bush.
Psyching themselves up for a quick raid to retrieve some food. Sometimes losing their nerve on the way and returning to the bush with nothing.

The Woodpecker, always watching. Swooping into peck at the nuts, but the slightest movement nearby sending it dashing off back to the safety of the trees.

The way all the other birds scatter as the Nuthatch comes diving in. Launching itself on a determined raid for the nuts.

I do really love the Goldfinch, such wonderful colours. They are very particular about what they will eat. Insisting on niger seeds otherwise they refuse to grace me with their presence.

And that will be half a day gone. Time vanishing as I immerse myself in the antics of these most wonderful of creatures.
