Veg time

A year ago, maybe more, when food supply chains were inconsistent and the country was verging on panic-buying, we started getting a weekly veg-box delivery from Oddbox who operate by “rescuing fruit & veg straight from the farm, including the odd curvy cucumber”. In other words, perfectly good food that the supermarkets are not too keen on.  We’ve been getting it every week since and add a box with fruit on some weeks.  It’s become a bit of a Friday ritual to wait for the box to arrive and open it to see what fresh delights are contained within.  Then, PY will create a menu for the week ahead that uses what’s in the box and, on a Saturday, I will shop for the remaining ingredients.  One of the great things about this approach is that we consume a much wider range of fruit and veg than we would do if I just picked it off the shelf on the weekly shop.
