Birthday girl

Woke just after 8 but dozed until the sound of the puppy outside the door heralded the arrival of Mr PHL, Miss PHL and the puppy bringing me a much needed cup of tea. Scrambled eggs and toast for breakfast before I opened the cards and some gifts which had been delivered. I’m not opening anything from the family until we are all meeting up at the weekend but I’m honestly embarrassed by the generosity of my friends and wider family.

The three of us had lunch at our local gastro pub and the puppy was pretty well behaved considering he’s not been in that environment very often. The food was delicious but there was a little consternation when we saw a rat in the outside patio area. The owner was quickly on the case and the exterminator chaps turned up before we’d finished eating. The pub is very close to woodlands and a river and given the current pandemic it’s no wonder the rats are getting braver. When we went to pay the bill they’d taken off the cost of our drinks. A nice gesture.

Home to further deliveries including a lovely lemon tree which already has tiny little lemons. A call with our son and his girlfriend and I’m about to finally crack open a bottle of Prosecco - well if you can’t toast your own birthday then life is a little colourless.

Thank you so much for your recent comments and stars. I’ve managed to get behind again but will try to catch up soon.

Really looking forward to seeing all the wonderful Tiny Tuesday entries.
