Cherry Blossom Time

I thought I’d better take a photo of the blossom on my young cherry tree before the wind and rain this weekend - it’s so pretty. The work on my car is finished and the car has been returned. I did some research on a new pc, but not decided yet. More gardening today, mostly potting on seedlings.

UK deaths up 22 to 127,502 (revised basis), with 2,445 new cases, 1,553 patients in hospital, 208 on ventilation and 134 new admissions. 34.1m have now received their first dose of the vaccine and 14m have had their second dose. Out of 22m given the AZ jab in the UK, 209 have had rare blood clots and 41 have died. The Health Secretary got his AZ jab today from JVT. North Norfolk has seen the 8th highest increase in cases over the last 2 weeks - the return of tourists? Of those that have been in hospital with Covid, in the 6 months after discharge 29% are readmitted and 12% die. More research confirms that a high BMI is a significant risk factor for Covid, particularly with younger people. The NHS England boss Sir Simon Stevens is stepping down as planned in July (after staying on this Winter to help fight the pandemic) and will be made a peer. Heathrow’s boss says Border Force needs to ‘get a grip’ of arrival checks before easing of lockdown.
