The Great Rescue

Up at 6:00 am to the sound of rain. Changed bed linens, packed the coolers, etc. and were on the road at 8:00 am sharp. Five minutes into our typical eight hour drive, this was our view. We had carried the 4-wheeler up on our trailer which was now hooked to our car but empty. Being in the rain on a curvy, one-lane descending gravel road that drops around 200’ off the right side, there was little we could do but wait for my BIL. Hubby walked back a quarter mile or so to tell him we needed a chain saw. They had the trees cleared and we were back on the road within an hour. Otherwise, the trip has been uneventful. My sister and BIL are already home, they make no stops. We have shopped at a few stores and grabbed lunch and a Blizzard. Hubby has a 7:00 pm information meeting about an Oct 2021 pilgrimage following the footsteps of St. Paul in Greece. The meeting location is an hour from our home so he does not have time to drop me off first. Hopefully we will get home before 11:00 pm. When you encounter a road block, take a deep breath, weigh your options with a level head and most often, everything will work out. Thanks for the stars and nice comments lately.
