I was glad I'd joined today's walk as it was much gentler than yesterday's and very varied. There were masses of bluebells in the woods, and the wild garlic has begun to flower too.

At one point we passed another group walk and then I recognised Rachel and quickly realised that she was guiding a walk for their business venture Peak Walking Adventures. A very quick chat and off we all went in opposite directions.

On the last leg of the walk we were alongside the Cromford Canal which was a delight. Lots of ducklings and then a nest of moorhen chicks, the first I've ever seen. Unfortunately there was a pike circling, with one of the parents bravely trying to chase it away... oh dear, fingers crossed.
