Flowering cherry arch, Bearsted Woodland Trust

Our Saturday evenings provoked much lovely comment. Thank you. We so look forward to them and miss them if we’re having to do other things. They’ve become a fixture in the past 24 years.

Sunday’s are different of course! Today Doreen came down for lunch meaning the morning was occupied preparing the meal: beef goulash with semolina and stewed blackberries (from last year) for afters.

We did manage to escape for a walk this afternoon, passing down this magnificent flowering cherry arch in the Woodland Trust beside Bearsted church. Each tree planted by a family in memory of a loved one. The bluebells are starting to come good - I’ll save them for another day.

There was time to watch an episode of Call the Midwife with Doreen before she had to return home for her evening carers. We shall probably round off the weekend with cheese and biscuits and perhaps a small red wine.
