St. Andrew's

St. Andrew's Church on Church Lane, Shottery was built as a Chapel of Ease for Holy Trinity Church in 1870.  It became a separate ecclesiastical parish in 1975, this is presumably why it doesn't have its own churchyard although there is a plot of memorial ground at the back of the car park behind the church.  The fence line has a whole row of varying headstones, many of them quite close together......which happens to be today's Wide Wednesday theme (close) hosted by BobsBlips.

It is a peaceful area with a bench near this blossom-laden young tree.  I often pop up there during my walk to say hello to the horses that are sometimes in the adjoining fields.
