Yellowhammer

After a day spent entering data and catching up with domestic matters, I found time to squeeze in a quick walk along the South Drain yesterday afternoon.

Lots of changes since my last visit with many Swallows and Common Terns swooping over Martin's Pit. I managed to catch up with a fine pair of Yellow Wagtails (thanks to a couple of tip offs) and a pair of distant Greenshank. Other highlights were Little Ringed Plover, and the sheer volume of birdsong!

I briefly dropped in at Etton-Maxey on the way home where a group of Yellowhammer and a Reed Bunting were enjoying the scattered bird seed.
