Archetypal Alentejo

Had too many photos I loved, so asked Mike to choose; he chose this, which wasn't even on my short list! Said he didn't think anyone would guess this was Portugal; but maybe South Africa (he lived in Lesotho for three years); what do you think?

Had breakfast at Morango Bar, a first, even more art work been done - if I saw that place, would guess Ibiza, I think!

Mostly drove instead of walking, as it was raining on and off (which is wonderful; as you can see, everything is pretty dry already). This scene is leaving the old customs post on the former road to Spain.

Sopa de Tomate for lunch at Cecílio and Ermelinda's, which is nothing like English tomato soup, but salted cod in a sort of stew, with poached eggs, poured over bread fried with chorizo.

An extra because don't know how much longer we'll have the flowers.

Gratefuls:
- the gift of a gorgeous, overcast, rainy day
- good conversation with E and C, and good food, too
- 6:30 Livestream with Deb and Cath, from our church in Sutton
