Eagle eye

A Brahminy Kite perches in a Norfolk Island Pine. Only metres from the shoreline, it watches intently for fishy prey, and keeps a wary eye on a blipping photographer on his afternoon walk to the lookout.

I read that the bird is found from India through SE Asia to east coast Australia, as far south as about 30 degrees latitude. Maybe the Indian connection explains the name 'Brahminy'.
