Scallopshells

A beautiful, sunny day here, but with a strong and bitterly cold wind anda little lying snow.
I cycled along to Scapa beach and pier and got 32 bar-tailed godwits, a Slavonian grebe, eiders, rb mergansers, lt duck and I watched a great northern diver catch and eat a flatfish. It took a great deal of manoeuvring to get the fish in the correct position for swallowing. Later I cycled about the town and out to the slip at the boatyard. It looked like someone had tried to launch a sailing dinghy and had to give up due to the wind. These shells were by the slip. More here.
