Where's ya bin?

Wet most of today, apart from now, 5.30, when the sun decides to come out!

I went down town this morning to meet a newcomer to Oban who is keen to join Keep Oban Beautiful, and would like to get involved with school and college students here to discuss rubbish, and the danger it poses to people and wildlife. Always good to get new blood and new ideas - hope that we can get some dialogue going.

This picture is one of the lanes which run down behind many of the shops in Oban. The building on the right was once a bakery, I was told, and the structure at top right - providing a perch for a pigeon at the moment - was for lifting the sacks of flour up to the top of the building. My informant used to play down this alley and hoist his pals up!

I just hope that the red and yellow bins are not the latest design - it looks bad enough to see the hundreds of green and blue bins left out in the street everywhere!

Quote of the Day:

Teresa Mummert – “Always follow your dreams, even if they lead you down a few dark alleys."
