Horse Chestnut candles

April showers continued unabated in number and intensity all day. We were fortunate to be able to dodge the worst on our walk this afternoon. Really dramatic skies with towering cumulus with billowing white tops and heavy threatening bases.

Susan was up with her mum this morning attending for a visit with the health worker who was giving Doreen the once over. Some positive outcomes and a new pain relief strategy in place. It’s back to monitoring how she is in the coming weeks.

I ended up at the allotment, not much work done but much talking to other plotholders. There’s a palpable sense of anger amongst most but not all plotholders.

There was a really interesting development when a fellow plot holder sent me a copy of an email from a Parish Councillor who was opposed to the plans and was appalled by the way the Council had behaved. That councillor suggested it wasn’t only plotholders who were angry, there were others too and that we should form an action group to oppose the plans and to bombard Parish, Borough and County Councillors with our grievances as well as our MP and the local newspapers.

I’ve waited patiently for this horse chestnut to come into flower, today’s the day. You can’t better these candles.
