Lindisfarne

What a treat to wake up near the sea and to have glorious weather all day. Due to tide times we needed to visit Holy Island at this end of the week so today was the day. We walked into the village and around the Priory and Church first, followed by a late morning drink in the pub garden - Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate, Yum!

We then walked down to the harbour wall and along the top of the beach. We thought we were going to be unlucky finding a bench but we got one in the end so had our picnic looking out across the bay to the castle. That was far enough for mum really, so we had a gentle walk back up the hill to the village and I then went and retrieved the car.

We decided not to overdo things and returned to our cottage to process our photos and have a rest.
