Life In Wales

Out for Lunch!

I finished work at 1pm and then took mum to Clare and Mike’s cafe in Llandudno for lunch. They only re-opened today so it was nice to be able to go and support them, and their cafe is lovely! It’s part of the Mostyn Gallery which is in a beautiful Victorian building which was actually designed by Clare’s great grandfather. It’s the first time I’ve eaten indoors since the first lockdown last year, but I felt quite comfortable, we had our temperature checked on the way into the gallery, and the cafe was very big and airy with the tables set well apart from each other. The food was amazing - a little bit of London brought to Wales! I had soy roasted salmon salad with black rice, quinoa and ginger, mum had a very posh fish finger sandwich.

On our way out we had a look round the gallery and I ended up buying a limited edition, signed and numbered print for the dining room. Then we had a stroll along the main shopping street which has lots of Victorian arcades, it felt so much quieter than Brighton but it’s lovely and I feel very relaxed and at home here, it’s such a lovely place. I even went into M&S and tried some clothes on - now there’s a novelty!

Alan picked Bertie Bus up from the Ford garage - a little worrying as they couldn’t find the ‘faults’, they’ve re-set the battery management system so we’ll have to see how it gets on.
