This image kind of sums up how I'm feeling this evening. I had a good start to the day, photographing a friend for some profile pics and having a good time doing it. He wasn't feeling the best, but I managed to get a few decent shots, so that was good.

Then I went to Obedience, where I shadowed a nice lady, but not a great trainer. I am not supposed to be training (just watching), but she seemed focused on one or two of the beginners, leaving the others not knowing what they were supposed to do. I improvised.

My heart leapt when I saw MrB driving up after class with my beautiful Abe. Only to sink again when one of the trainers came racing over to us (he was being really good) and told me that a vet nurse (who works at a specialised vets who deal with rehab and sports injuries) had spotted that Abe was lame and looked to be in some pain in his back. We stopped training and went home; me in tears.

Later still, I heard that Little Miss' friend, MJ, whose mum passed away a week ago, has just told her that her dad is now in hospital. I knew that he had cancer too, but he is now having multiple operations. The cancer is in his bones. The 'children' are 15, 17 and 20. Too young to lose one parent, let alone two.

Little Miss and her friends, including MJ, have gone to the movies tonight. I think she's trying to get some 'normality' into her life right now. What else can you do, I suppose?

So yeah, feeling a bit flat and trying to find the silver lining right now.
