The Edge of the Wold

Blackpool Tower

The view from the Knott, just after sunrise, across Morecambe Bay to Heysham, and then far beyond and faint in the distance is Blackpool Tower.

A few days ago, I was talking of signs of Spring, but Winter has returned with a vengeance. A very cold day with driving snow showers interspersed with spells of brilliant sunshine. Many of our little daffodils have keeled over after the sharp frost. So Reg slumbers on in the cool of the fridge, dreaming of hot, sunny weather and dandelions.

After breakfast there was an event that we have been hoping to witness since Gus arrived in the house. Bob the cat curled up next to Gus and over his feet on his bed cushion. Gus looked a little worried, but he stayed put. Bob's interest was probably more to do with supplanting Gus, and getting the benefit of a warm cushion, but if nothing else it shows just how much he trusts him.
