This morning it was showers and sunny intervals. This afternoon it was more like showers with even wetter intervals. However we managed to avoid getting a soaking on our walk around the lake. The idea was to walk from Keswick via Portinscale ( said hello to Sue Middleton  and Dave on the way) round to the Lodore hotel have a cup of tea and wait for  the bus to go back the rest of the way. Unfortunately you were supposed to pre book for the hotel and we hadn't, so that plan was scuppered. They kindly allowed me to use their loos though thank goodness!
We got back just as it was starting to rain more heavily so once again we considered ourselves 'lucky with the weather'.
