Footbridge

This footbridge is part of the remnants of a landscaped 18th century ‘pleasure gardens’.  A few months ago it was blocked off because of structural problems.  There is no evidence of any repair work, but it is now open again.  I'm not sure whether repairs were carried out, or whether it was decided that the bridge was safe after all.

During the winter, the paths through these and other woods became dreadfully soft and muddy.  They have since dried out and started recovering, but after the last few weeks of rain they are getting muddy again.  Will the Spring ever come?

The good news I received a couple of days ago has now been confirmed.  I have been awarded the AFIAP distinction (Artist of the International Federation of Photographic Art) recognising multiple acceptances in international salons. Because of the constraints of the pandemic over the last year or so, I have not captured many (or any) new exhibition standard photographs, so it is unlikely that I will be applying for any further awards in the near future.
