Quod oculus meus videt

Controversy

Walsall's New Art Gallery comes of age this year.  It was opened by her majesty The Queen in 2000 and was a bold statement in terms of architecture.  The building cost £21m to build, much of the money coming from a lottery grant.

I don't remember much controversy around its construction, which is more than can be said for these newly placed green pots that have been placed outside the gallery and along the main pedestrianised shopping area. Various critics have likened them to 'something out of the Super Mario Brothers'.  In contrast the Council have said that they "promote a feeling of wellbeing and safety".

I don't have a strong view either way.  As a blipper I just appreciate something that can be used for a subject of the daily image.
