Diary of an Edinburgher

Hot!

The morning haar disappeared early on today, thank goodness. JR went off to the gym.

Uncle A is getting out from hospital on Wednesday, so I went to clear out the fridge and take away all the rubbish. I’ll do a shop on Tuesday for milk, bread etc.

Today I popped in to say hello to Uncle A’s neighbour. She’s been very good to him, including at least two visits to A&E (that I know of) over the years, waiting 5 hours with him last time. I should have popped in sooner to let her know what was happening, but now we have a return date. She was pleased (and relieved) to learn that he is now going to have more help at home. I will certainly pop in to see her more often.

Elizabeth came to take Archie out - by this time it was scorching! We wandered round to visit Pip’s parents’ house. They are just over our back wall (but we walked round the road). Abi’s mum and aunties were also there, as tourists. They visited the Royal Yacht Britannia this morning. Thank goodness they have some decent weather.

We had a great time, with lots of laughs. A lot of random facts were bandied about - did you know that (some) cicadas lie buried in the ground for 13-17 years before coming out to breed?

Pip missed seeing Archie, and he went to snooze inside as it got too hot! Archie would have had fun going all round Pip’s garden piddling on every single bush.

But he had an even better time out with Elizabeth. And they met Hamish (Archie’s absolute favourite dog). He does look a bit puggled here...
